Sayhuite

Sayhuite site is located on the way from Cusco to Abancay, in Apurimac department. It is delimited by two small steams and embeds between several wooded hills; it is a paradise on earth. The main attraction is the Sayhuite Stone:  about 4 m in diameter and 2.5 m high, this is an enormous granite block which upper part is engraved with more than 200 symbols with signification and use unknown yet. One of the theories is that the stone represents the cosmos and the living people; others talk about a pattern of constructions to undertake, like aqueducts, etc. There are also monoliths, carved in the shape of thrones, stairs, paved roads, fountains, high stone walls and empty rooms.
